Why should you go to Socialism 2016, July 1-4 in Chicago?

  1. To confirm that you are not crazy, that the Bernie Sanders campaign has shown that millions of people think we need radical change and identify with the term “socialism”;
  2. To confirm how many ways capitalism is killing us, and that the potential for revolution is real IF we organize it;
  3. To learn how to be a socialist organizer, not just an activist, by exploring the International Socialist Tradition, “socialism from below” and the politics of the ISO;
  4. To connect with revolutionaries from all over North America and beyond, spending four days surrounded by 1500 of your closest comrades in struggle, all learning from each other;
  5. With 140 talks, you can explore Marxism, socialist theory, liberation, anti-imperialism, radical working class history, culture and more;
  6. To discuss and debate strategies for change the key issues of the day, from #BlackLivesMatter to #FeeltheBern and everything in between–your contributions are vital;
  7. To counter the neoliberal education you are getting and the lies pushed by the media;
  8. To get lost in the Haymarket Books room for a few hours;
  9. To see great performances by radical activist artists, some socialist comedy (seriously) or just hang out and talk, talk, talk….
  10. To take a step towards building something revolutionary in the belly of the beast.
