EVENT: Racism in the Trump Era
Since the election of Donald Trump, people who may have been considered the racist fringe have been emboldened and activated to engage in intimidation, violence and even murder. From Washington, D.C., to Portland, Oregon, from the East Coast to the West, racist violence has been documented. The three components of Trump’s racial regime: anti-immigrant hysteria, Islamophobia and anti-Black racism. But racism in America is never just about racism for racism’s sake. It is always in the service of a larger agenda. In the case of Trump it is obvious. It is no coincidence that the racism animating much of Trump’s politics accompanies a harsh and draconian economic agenda intended to gut the living standards of the entire working class.*
Come to this public meeting on racism in America today – and how we can effectively combat it.
