EVENT: Labor and the Tech Economy
Every aspect of life in San Francisco has been affected by the explosion of the tech industry. Sky rocket rents and exorbitant CEO pay exist along with displacement, homelessness and despair. Fears of automation and the pervasiveness of the gig economy leave many fearing the worst. But workers, from Verizon technicians to AT&T store employees to janitors to developers with conscience are fighting back.
Come to this ISO meeting a we take on some of the myths around the tech economy and discuss what workers in the industry are doing to fight for better pay and conditions.
