EVENT: For the Many, Not the Few – Corbyn and the British Electons
Conservative British Prime Minister, Theresa May, called a snap election in June to try to get her party a greater majority in parliament. Instead, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn ran a radical Left-wing campaign to nationalize key industries, tax the rich, and assist refugees. The result was the Conservative Party lost numerous seats and is barely able to hold power in the government. Now, the Labour Party and the Left are gaining momentum in ousting the Conservative government and build a movement for social justice.
We will also be discussing the recent Grenfell Fire tragedy in London. This tragedy is a perfect example of the horrors that austerity can bring to working class people all over the world, and why we need a new kind of politics immediately.
Join a discussion about how the Corbyn campaign beat back the Right and what it means for the international Left.
